  • Fun Facts:

I'm a pretty good cook, and I love to go fishing any chance I get. Blew out a rudder cable and totally wiped out in the last 3 feet of my 20 mile day trip with the Castaways in 2011.
  • Essential CAC Gear:

Werner Carbon-Fiber Paddle. The weight difference, compared to an aluminum/fiberglass paddle, makes all the difference on a long-distance kayak trip.
  • Additional CAC Gear:

    Extra rudder cable and tools.
  • How did you get involved with the CAC?:

Long-time Castaways, Chad Forbes and Craig Engler, are good friends of mine. They got me started kayaking when I moved to Miami in 2006, and it's been a slow march toward the inevitable, ever since.
  • In his own words:

"Before speaking negatively about someone else, walk a mile in their shoes. That way, you're a mile away from them, and you have their shoes!"

Rudders are for sissies.
