  • How did you become a Castaway? Frigo made me do it... THAT, and the fact that I am in awe of Castaway's mission. I want to do anything I can to help (well maybe except get in a kayak for a week and risk my life to sharks). 2021 was my first tour and I was blown away by the great people that make up the Castaways. I had a chance to take my kids on the tour and they still talk about the meaning of it til this day. The Closing Flower ceremony on the beach at the end of the tour brings everything together and solidifies the strength of this powerful group and cause.

  • Why are you a Castaway? Although I don't paddle or cycle, I am 100% Castaway. I do it for the many tears I have cried losing friends and family to cancer. I do it for the extraordinary people I have met since becoming a Castaway. I do it for the followers of the Castaways who inspire me with their stories of perseverance and I do it because I know what we do matters.

  • Outside a kayak/bicycle, what is your "essential" gear? An iphone camera, motrin for the headaches Frigo and Pino give me, wine and margaritas.

  • Conch Republic Navy Rank: Haven’t had the honor of being inducted yet.

  • Personal Fun Fact: I'm a twin! And I just recruited her to be a Castaway. I'm also an avid runner and I coach cross country and track to elementary and junior high school kids. I love coaching! I'm also very passionate about the Parkinson's Foundation since my mom was diagnosed in 2019.

  • How have I helped carry out the CAC mission of funding cancer research and honoring those who have fought the fight? In addition to donating every year, my role within the Castaways organization is to spread their mission and good vibes as far as possible. I lead communications and events for this organization and by increasing awareness for the Castaways mission across our community and even across the US, this is how I help honor the team and any one who has been affected by cancer.
